Changed daughters housing on 9700 bold with new white one frim RIM also changed ceter since the change am having signal problems looked everywher for the antenna connection and appears not to use one may be a small coil at top of phone.

Swapped it all back with original black case and center still the same issue cant see how swapping the housing has affected the antenna and have done this loads of times before but not on this model any ideas would be good.

You likely damaged the antenna and also have voided the warranty, you'll have to go to a repair shop now.

Wasnt under warranty anyway she dropped it when it was out of warranty may pop it into a shop and get them to check it over

You can get a new middle plate which would contain a new antenna assembly.
