Bold 9700 Verizon Unlkd, GSM S. America, 2-3 calls-locks, says Activation Required
Greetings.
New user here.
I did a search but could only find information that applies specifically to removing the Activation Required message.
I am not sure that removing the message only will actually make the phone usable.
I bought the phone in the USA, had it unlocked and brought it to Colombia, South America for a friend. I then used the BB Desktop Manager to update the Verizon software because that was the only way that I could find to install the Spanish language add-on.
I tried setting it to manual network but it still does the same thing.
After 2 to 3 successful calls, it locks up. A battery pull gets me going again for another 2-3 calls.
I did the exact same thing on a Verizon Bold 9630 and it works fine.
Does the ##000000 process actually activate the phone or does it just allow the Act. Reqd. message to be removed from the screen?
Thanks Much
