Bold 9700 - trackpad stops working after OS upgrade
I've tried numerous times now to upgrade to the OS on my BB Bold 9700 from OS 5 to OS 6.
The OS version I have installed is v6.0.0.448_P6.6.0.124.
After the installation and restore process completes, the phone comes back up with the initial disclaimer. But it is impossible to get past this screen because the trackpad no longer works and I cannot click on the "Accept" button.
I have tried various other versions of OS 6 but they all have the same result. Someone suggested I need to Shrink the OS but I had exactly the same result after Shrinking and then doing the update.
If I downgrade to OS 5 then the trackpad works fine. The latest version of OS 5 however has another issue.
If I lock my phone by holding down the "A" key, then I am unable to unlock the phone using the unlock button. The only way to unlock the phone is to put it in the holster and take it out again.
This problem doesnt occur on earlier versions of OS 5, only in the last OS 5 Bundle 994.
Any help would be appreciated! - 04-12-2012, 02:58 AM #2
Could be an app that is not compatible with OS6. Try a clean install without any apps to see if it works, then download your apps one at a time checking the track pad after each one.
Sent from my old faithful BlackBerry 9700 using TapatalkDo as you would be done by and 12 pence to the shilling (or 100 cents to the dollar).

I just tried removing everything except for the core files and I still have the same issue
As soon as the disclaimer comes up then the trackpad no longer works.
Any other ideas?
