I picked up a bold 9700 running v6.0.0.488. The phone is great shape with exception of scratches on the screen. I wiped the phone and reinstalled the os. The track pad worked for awhile then quit working. Did do the battery pulls and reinstalled the os again hoping to fix the issue. Worked then quit again. On opening the phone noticed water damage on the connection of the trackpad and the board. No water damage anywhere else in the phone. Replaced trackpad with one from a damaged phone that I was told was good working pad. Cleaned board connection and replaced pad and trackpad still acts up. Is there a way to tell if its not the pad at all and its a board issue or should I spend the money and pay to have it fixed with a brand new trackpad?

are you sure the other trackpad was indeed working properly? maybe take some rubbing alcohol and clean the flex cable connector better. sounds like a bad connection.

No i'm not sure, the lady that gave it to me from her damaged phone said it was. I'll try the cleaning and if that doesn't fix it then i'll order a new trackpad.
