Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 9700:
1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.Last edited by cbaboy88; 01-18-2010 at 01:39 PM.

I am glad to report that this build has Japanese, Korean, and Thai inputs along with Chinese (multiple ones) of course
This is a nice Xmas gift. Thanx so much cbaboy88.
If you do not want to do a full update, you can simply overrider CJK file. Also, you need to add certain files from Java from the new build to your current one. The easiest way to do is to copy all, then paste but do not override.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com I did not do a full update, but simply did what I metioned earlier about overriding files. This way, I do not need to reactivate all my 3rd party apps. Also, .344 has been working really well for me -- it ain't broke so I only do inputs update.
The catch here is that once you overide the files, you need to uninstall .423 if you do not want to update the whole firmware.
When you launch DM and connect your BB, upon opening up Apploader, you will have option to add Chinese (multiple), Japanese, Korean and Thai inputs.
Please note that .423 has newer version of BBM, Password keeper, E-mail setup application than .344 as well. So if you follow my instruction, you may end up updating the newer versions of those core and add-on programs.

PS. Sorry, I can only read English, Thai and Chinese so no Japanese update for me and therefore no Japanese screen shot for you only Thai and just a sample.
