Blackberry Salvation: A Tale for The Ages
My infatuation with the 9700 took root as the rays of the autumn Sun danced gently on the polished bezel a colleague's device. I, not knowing the hows and wherefores of my enchantment as the days grew dark and cool, drew quick comfort from its ubiquity amongst my peers.
A cold comfort it was; soon, jealousy and bitterness tore me asunder as a predator would tear hot flesh from bone. The skies fell and the earth shook. On grey and windy sidewalks I shouted, "Why not me?", to passing 9700s clutched tenderly by concerned possessors.
Within weeks I had lost my relationships, my home and my mind. The walls of my motel room were papered with photographs of my beloved; on its floors, rested a dozen journals of insipid Blackberry poetry and musings; a map, tracking the movement of neighbourhood devices, covered its lone table.
Today, I'm better. I was eased from my despair by reading the postings of the Crackberry membership. With renewed strengthened and capacity, I shouted, "Why not me!", not as a question of someone forsaken, but as an affirming declaration of purpose. As I neared the mobile shop, I heard birds sing and saw children smile. Inside, with my yet-to-be-named pretty one nestled in my arms, I was carried above and beyond to a firmament of previously unknown joy and tranquility. One year later, my love remains strong and uncontested. Happy Anniversery, 9700.
