Blackberry Bold 9700 Battery Issues! :(
okay so ive had a blackberry bold 9700 (with Rogers), since november 2010, and ever since a few weeks ago, sometimes my phone will randomly say "Battery Drained" and it will shut down, meanwhile ill have only half battery life left. after i reboot it, my battery life is in the red zone. when i plug it back in, after about a minute, my battery life goes back to half way and my phone works fine. its only happened a few times, but i just dont want this issue to occur often.. is it the blackberry or the battery that is causing the problem? what should i do? help is heavily appreciated

Time to get a new battery. If you got the money, an upgrade.

I too have had some issues lately with Battery life. I used to be able to go close to 2 days without having to charge. Now i go even 3 hours and im down to 60% 11 in and im down to 30%. I am not a heavy user at all, today for instance i made 3 maybe 15minutes all together call, have theweathernetwork app on in the background updating every hour.

odd... is there some kind of battery bomb going on with the 9700??
I had ver .668 and battery lasted over 2 days (regular usage). Then version .723 came out and i upgraded it. however, there was something about that version that cause to do downgrade back to .668.
I had noticed on .723, the battery lasted just under 2 days but the OS seem to lag a bit so I downgraded. Now that I've gone back to .668... the battery life is terrible. I barely last through a day now.
I've shrunk the OS and had wipe and reloaded OS twice... same result.Unlocked Blackberry 9700 - 6.0.0.668

Batteries are disposable parts. They don't last forever, nor are they meant to. (Why else would they be removable). Depending on your use/charging habits they will vary in life. It should be no surprise that they need to be replaced after a couple years.
This reminds me, I should probably buy some new batteries for my smoke detectors.
