you need to open your 9700 and then push the space bar outwards, there are plenty of videos on YouTube which teach how to take your BB 9700 apart. if not confident then get it repaired at a service center.

What you mean by moving it outwards?no need to change keyboard or something?

sometimes due to excess pressure keys sink in to the membrane, pushing it outwards should solve such an issue. if the space bar has been in this situation due to excessive usage which in turn effected the membrane beneath it then you will need a new keyboard.

If it's still under warranty, or if it's expired/voided, take it to a repair shop and have them replace the keyboard membrane.

Is the membrane located underneath the keyboard?buy new membrane or just buy new keyboard?

yes the membrane is under the keyboard, the membrane and the keyboard are attached together and are not fully separated.

This happened to one of my buttons. What I did was open it up and I removed the membrane. Under that you will see the actual keyboard board with a white film glued on to the board. Between those two, there are little round transparent circles with a bulge for each individual key that helps depress the keys.

I lifted the white film slightly of the board and removed that little circle which was stuck there using self adhesive glue. Grabbed an ancient Sony Ericsson phone tore it apart and found out it uses the same piece (seems pretty standard across all phones with kb's) so I took one off and replaced the old one just by placing it on the white film and stuck right back. This button now clicks better than all of the rest

My space bar is now exhibiting similar symptoms so I will open that up soon and see if I can do the same fix.
