I am in an outlaying camp in Afghanistan and have very limited cellular signal(GSM). I have been looking and overall BB's have the best rep for signal strength. Can anyone tell me if the Bold 9700 is the best canidate for a global phone in remote area's as far as receiving the best signal. Also is amazon the best place to get cheap BB's? I have to be able to ship to an APO AE address (Military) and not all business will, however amazon does. Thanks for your help in advance!

as far as signal strenght reception it varies
i have seen one phone get 5 bars and an identical phone beside it get 3 bars

I know its not what you want to hear, but it is possible, especially if someone has tried to fix an LCD or change housing and screwed something up.

Amazon is very reputable, but even eBay is good.

I have a 9700 for 2 years with absolutely NO signal issues
