Default Best OS for the bold.

I have the berrylicious or whatever it's called OS installed it's good but I'm tired of that black clock popping up, the internet saying this page is too large or just completely freezing on me. I was wondering what the best OS to install on your 9700 is? That will run smooth have no problems with anything, be able to install multiple apps without getting the "You have run out of memory" message when I try to upgrade or download an app.

Thanks.

It's not about the best OS it's about shrinking down whatever OS or hybrid you use to deal with the memory issues on the 9700.

You will occasionally get the "page too large" message cause there aint enough memory on the 9700 to cope with large pages.

Apart from a hybrid, you can't beat 668. It's by far the best OS6 so far. You must shrink it well though to get the best out of it.

If you want your 9700 to run rock solid, then you will have to stick with the old OS5. 862 was a very good build. My wife still runs it on her phone and I don't think she's done a battery pull in the last year.

Your choice. Old or new OS?

- stick with OS5, get the latest. no shrinking or any tweaking necessary.
--> it is outdatet in some functions, compared to other smartphones. but 100% pure berry experience guarenteed!

OR

deal with the glitches of OS6 on the BB 9700...i have no more hope for a stable ver. of OS6 on the bold2..shrinking nd hybrids are an option, yes..but the OS will never be as stable as OS5.
may the memory leak, battery drain and other weird bugs be with you

just my opinion

OS5 is the most stable for the 9700 - the latest 1014.

I have been running OS6 v6.6.0.668 prior to shrinking with BB Boss was hit or miss with lagging, too large - closing web page.

I highly recommend .668 with BB Boss.

What OS are you running?

What Apps are currently installed and used?

Have you back up on BBDM?

Have you tried to shrink the OS?

Using BBSAK to wipe the device to the 507 reload software screen may help as that is a clean state OS load.
