Unhappy BB maps not working with Radio on 6.0.0.706

I have installed 6.0.0.706 on my 9700 and I am unable to locate my location with the radio on BB maps. GPS works fine but radio alone doesn't. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?

I had several odd things with 706 including GPS lock issues. I was using Google Maps though. Went back to 668 and everything works great.

I suggest you go back to 668. 706 sucks.

Alan.

I installed Vf New Zealand but will try VF Essar version to see if it makes a difference. If not back to the sluggish .668 it is

I have seen others report that 668 is sluggish but personally, I havn't notice that. Seems as good as any other OS on my 9700.

It was an official release but I certainly wouldn't recomend it.

668 is the best so far. For me and many others.

Why don't you try it and see for yourself. You can always try another version if it doesn't suit you.

OS 5 is recommended if OS 6 doesn't work out for you.

I love that damn OS. Sure wish a hybrider would blend it's components with OS 7 so my battery life would be at 6 days!

What's your battery life like on your new 9900 then?

It lasts between 4-8 hours on light use. Heavy use would be recording a HD video and then, uploading it while using ubertwitter, surfing the crackberry forums, etc. I'm an addict. That and checking the inbox on googletube, adsense too and another forums site occasionally, including diaspora and facebook. It should be longer like 1.5 days.

Perhaps the 9790 would have been better for you. I understand that the battery, although the same as the 9900, does last much longer.

Maybe you can't get it yet in your area. It's not yet available here in the UK.

Windmobile doesn't have it yet, but once they do get it, I don't know if I will be able to exchange it. Besides, I think I went over the 30 minutes of airtime VS the 15 day return period. I'll check and see. I love the 9900's formfactor
