Default BB Bold 9700 Battery lifespan

Is there any consensus on the lifespan of the Bold 9700 battery? I've had my Bold for 1 1/2 years, and I'm getting to the point where it's barely making it through the day with only moderate usage.

Brand new I was getting 2-2.5 days with moderate use. Now, after more than 1 1/2 years, I get about 12-24 hours, depending on how much Angry Farm I play.

Batteries lose their ability to hold a charge over time. Li-ion batteries usually fail gracefully, meaning the decline in battery life is very gradual and hardly noticeable at first. It will accelerate as the battery nears the end of its serviceable lifespan. This is why most batteries are considered consumables and only warrantied for 1 year.

It may be time to look for a new battery.

There are reasonably-priced batteries available for your Bold on Amazon.com. I look for the Vendor Cell Lounge, Inc. All of the batteries I've ordered from them have been on the lower end of the price scale, shipping generally has been included, and the batteries have been authentic.

When you compare prices to a big box store, or the carrier store, it's quite a shock.

I just replaced my Style's battery after 6 months. It was totally thrashed, and the store reps didn't believe it was possible in six months of use. They were wrong.

Current Bold is 1.5 years old. Moderate use has me charging about every other day on average. This has been the case since it was new. No real degradation in the battery life at all. <knock wood> I've been real lucky with this one.

I've seen entries regarding LiveProfile eating battery life, but I bet we plumb forgot to ask what apps you had recently installed that might have been giving you a fit.

1.5 years is approximately the life cycle of battery. You should replace with a new one.
