    Default battery issue

I'm using 5.0.0.442 at the moment. I read some posts that normally, 9700 will last for more than a day even three days. But mine lasts only for less than 24-hour. Is it because my OS version?

Some OS versions have better battery management than others but how you use your phone and reception has the biggest impact. Make sure you close your apps properly. As for OS version, I found .593 to be the best on battery but some may experience otherwise.

.593 is all around the best 9700 OS so far... hands down

a very small minority have issues... but overall, it's the most stable, smoothest, fastest, most battery friendly 5.0.0.XXX so far

.593 is the latest stable OS, but not all carriers have upgraded to that as yet. Look around the 9700 forums, there is a sticky where you can download and learn how to install .593 (:

But turning off your Bluetooth and wifi when not in use. Closing all your apps and reducing backlight brightness will do so much more for battery life

Don't listen to the people who claim to get 3 days out of their phone, they obviously don't use it enough!
Mine doesn't manage 24 hours most days! If I barely use it (by my standards anyway) I might manage day and a half! Yesterday it lasted about 6 hours of continuous useage. Yeah I leave bluetooth on.
Not that I'm convinced it matters much but I'm on 593.

It's related to your usage, your network and your apps. You can't match others who have better networks and less usage. If you use 3G, WiFi and BT and don't let the phone out of your hand chances are that 24 hrs is a good stand-by.
