    Default battery indicator

    Hi

I have a problem with battery indicator (I believe). Few days ago I had 70% of my battery when suddenly "battery drained, shuting down handheld" appeared. And it happend few times now. My battery no longer indicates 20% or less, now it switches off from 30%-50%. Is it battery issue or there's something wrong with phone itself? Any ideas?

    Thanks

    What OS you running?

Seems to be more common with os6, granted saw it with os5 as well.

I had it on os6 .358 leak and is also on .424, but isn't consistent. Only does it from time to time...

I believe it is more software issue than hardware myself.

I haven't had this problem so I can't speak from expierence. But have read if you remove the battery, plug device to charger and insert battery, it resets the battery calculator. Worth a try and it won't hurt the device.

For me .862 was solid. I agree with Max, it sounds like software rather than hardware. Try the battery pulld/charger steps I posted above. If that doesn't work, install the lates OS 5 official posted at the top of this forum. Since you are a "noob", I don't recommend jumping to OS 6 yet.

A battery pull should correct the battery's charge level from it's misreported state. I suggest getting an extended battery if it keeps misreporting it's status.

Searched the net and all I found are third party 3000mAh batteries. Did you mean one of them or are they extended bb batteries as well?

    Thanks

They are aftermarket, non-OEM extended batteries. As long as the seller has a reputation of 95-100% feedback, you should trust them. Sort via Price and Shipping: lowest first. You'll see the ones with the lowest cost and free shipping.
