All PDFs are not the same...
On my 9700 I am able to open most PDFs (certainly ones created using CutePDF and the Word 2007 add-in are fine), but I have received a couple of emails lately that I know from my Desktop contain a PDF, but the attachment does not appear in the email on my BB.
When I hit Menu>Open Attachment, nothing happens.
When I hit Menu>Download Attachments I get "You are about to download a file that cannot be viewed on your BlackBerry Device. Continue?" Selecting Yes allows me to select a save location, but on trying to open the file says "Unable to display file"
Ideas?Last edited by nico6; 05-02-2010 at 08:25 PM.

The 9700 opens PDFs out of the box, I beleive. Checking my apps I haven't installed anything special for PDF, and it happily opens the vast majority of those that I receive. (All 'bad' PDF files open fine on my PC but not on the BB)
Which 3rd party PDF viewer would be best? That may help deal with files that appear to not quite meet the standard expected by the 9700. - 05-02-2010, 11:09 PM #4
I'd recommend PDFs to Go from Dataviz. It comes "free" when you upgrade the Docs to Go version that came with your phone. Every pdf works fine now.
Worthwhile investment, in my opinion. Consider it just part of the initial investment with the phone. It's $30 from the first 2 weeks you open Docs to Go or something, then $50USD after.
Opens many more features in Docs to Go as well.
