Default Advise regarding purchase of extra memory

    Hi there,

I am thinking of purchasing extra memory for my Bold 9700. However needed some advise on how much and what I can use it for.

Currently I have my application memory has free space of 111.4MB and my Media card memory is completely free of 1.8GB

Typically I do not put music or really put pictures on my phone.

My MAIN usage of the phone is my contacts which is currently at 1000 and continues to grow (this contains name, emails, numbers, addresses etc etc).

I also INTEND to use a fair number of applications but am told that applications CANNOT be stored on memory cards. Currently I only have WHATSAPP downloaded.

So the question lies that for use of CONTACTS and APPLICATIONS - what is the best thing for me to do for my instrument such that upon my contacts expanding and upon my downloading software to my instrument - the phone doesnt crash on me???

    Much thanks for any advise.

    Best,
    Mareena

Unfortunately, the only way to get more application storage is by upgrading your phone to one with 512mb. The only thing that can be stored on a media card is, well, media, so the card isn't going to do you much good.

111mb free is actually quite a bit, you should be fine downloading a bunch of apps, and keep expanding your contacts.

Agree. No need to worry about memory until <20mb... <10mb, Panic. then come back to CB to find out how to free up some memory.

Your memory card is fine, I'd download CrackMem and get rid of some native programs/apps that aren't necessary or used in order to free up some space.

First of all, I think you can save up money as the memory space you said above, is still enough. There is no need to worry about it.

However, just say if you are really...REALLY want to increase your memory then you have to get the 512mb like what ridesno159.

Have not heard or seen any memory upgrade thingy yet >.>

The 9780 has 512MB, maybe the OP could get that to avoid running low. Windows Mobile/CE/phone7, Android can only install apps to the memory card.
