    Default 3G icon question (probably dumb)

    So, whats the difference between the 3G fluctuating between big and small? Is it like EDGE and edge or it something different on the new 3G handsets? I thought the BB logo was what meant it was connected to the BB network. Any input? Im running the new 9700 OS that was released today and 3G seems better but I noticed its changing alot. Thanks.

    EDGE allows data you must have EDGE to get data

    Lower case edge allows text and cell service no data

    Im on 3G, my question is that the 3G icon seems to change size. Is it maybe UMTS -> HSDPA or the fact that its sending data or???

    Looked in the AT&T Quick Start guide, pg 42

    3G ? = voice; SMS; MMS; data; BlackBerry server
    3G = voice; SMS; MMS; data
    3g = voice; SMS
    EDGE = voice; SMS; MMS; data; BlackBerry server
    edge = voice; SMS
    GPRS = voice; SMS; MMS; data; BlackBerry server
    gprs = voice; SMS
    GSM = voice; SMS

    As far as send/receive data status, look in the top right corner for the arrows.
