Simply put, I don't see any way to customize the bottom dock. Stranger, there are icons on it...Phone, for instance...that don't seem appear anywhere else.

Well after playing with it, it is pretty simple really. The first 4 icons on the bottom are hard wired. Last two are customizable,which are 7 and 8 on apps screen. 1 through 6 are along the sides. Hope this helps.
That's great...thanx so much! I find it really odd that the phone icon is ONLY on that dock...'Wonder why. Also, any idea what the 4th icon is? On mine, at least, it looks like a folder, but it doesn't do anything when clicked, and no label appears when it highlighted.
