| | Would be nice if..
Would be nice if Sprint would replace my 9650 with a 9930.
Last month i took my BB to Sprint to get it fixed. My letter P only worked at its own convenience. My phone would randomly turn off. And my camera would either take pics with wierd blue/red lines through them ramdom spots or the pics would show up all white.
So i go pic up my BB and the tech tells me the following. I fixed your camera it was loose. (she takes a couple pictures no problem) i was like cool. Then she says i also cleaned your keyboard thats why your P wasnt working. (awsome) This is where the i felt i was being BSd. She told me that my OS wasnt loaded properly that when i recently updated it didnt load all the way. :l ummmm this was going on before the update. BUt i just nodded and played dumb. She told me she loaded the OS again and i shouldnt have any issues.
I walk out the doors and start texting my mom. Hmmm how do i walk out with a BB more screwed up then i brought it lol (kinda) my symbols on my keyboard werent working AT all. Then i realized my phone is as i left it. If she loaded my OS wouldnt i have a factory reseted device?
She orders me a refurbished celly. Which has the same cam issues. :l 7 out 10 of the pictures i take our ruined. i have a brand new baby. my celly is the convenient way to catch her first moments. I demand a 9930! lol

The backup grabs all 3rd party apps, any pics/ringtones stored in the app memory, all settings, databases (contacts, profile settings, etc...).

the lines through the pics is a notorious issue with os6 and this bold. this is why i am on os5. i dont want lines across pictures even if it is for a few out of a hundred.
the keyboard she could have cleaned under it but as far as a refurb thats what the ins is for. as much as i would love it if they did they say they will give you an equal or higher replacement (if they have no more equals in stock)
i have had a few occasions where they upgraded my phone through insurance swaps but it probably wont be for another few months. you have to wait for them to give up on the 9650 all together.

Have u thought about going back to os5?
I had this phone for about 8 months before 6 launched and found myself liking the snappiness of os5 over 6 for most of the basic things like opening texts or emails.
That's the sucky part of bb. In your old mogul days I also had winmo and my treo 650 got replaced with a 755p and then an 800w and then a pro, they dropped phones as fast as android, berrys stay decent for a year or two. Lol

That camera thing is weird. I have run every version of OS6, even hybrids and leaks, etc...all of them and NEVER ONCE had a pic come out with red and blue lines through it.
I guess there is a lot of variability in the hardware, even though they are the same devices.
I wouldn't go back to OS5 if you paid me. Get a replacement. And keep getting them.

Sent from my BlackBerry 9650 using Tapatalk | Not really. they only thing i really miss in OS5 is how the picture folders were so much easier to access verses OS6.
Yea they did. This was when Android was only the G1 lol.

Yea that's the line. I think jaydee is crazy lucky. Haha every 6 I ran had this but I would just retake the pic and it would be fine. such a random intermittent issue.

Yep, I must be lucky to avoid the camera issue. I have used 5 different handsets (all 9650's) and not one of em did that. However, all of them had a crazy memory leak...so I didn't escape there. Sometimes up to 80MB a day )
I have always said each one of these devices has its own personality and traits.
