Default Wireless Verizon Bold 9650 update available!

Just checked on the wireless update and it is there now.

6.0.0.431 for my Verizon Bold 9650.

I didn't see this posted, but I sure could have missed it in my eagerness to post.

Glad I decided to state .431 was official when I did =)

I'm currently running it now and it's running great. Hope it runs great for you all as well

Which OS were you guys on when you checked? I just checked and I have the update to 5.0.0.1006. I'm on 5.0.0.975 right now.

Update to 5.0.0.1006, then you'll seen the update to 6.0.0.431.

Is this the same OS that leaked a few days ago? Cause that one seemed to be a hybrid.

It's the same, and it wasn't a hybrid. It wasn't the full installer, so an exe had to be created.

So if we don't want to update OTA twice (I have .975 and would have to OTA .1006 and the OS6) We just wait for it to be on DM?

I'm also on 5.0.0.975, but for whatever reason I am not yet seeing an OTA update available to 5.0.0.1006 or 6.0.0.431 from my device. I don't really want to do it that way anyhow. I'm just hoping that if the OTA is available now for some people, shouldn't that mean the official downloadable .exe will drop tonight, maybe at 6? I sure hope so anyways. I know, I know, it's already leaked. I've just never done it that way and always waited for Verizon to post the official MR. If I don't see something available for download by tonight, I think I will try my first "unofficial" install of the leaked version with a wipe, OS shrink, etc. I may need some help from you guys, but I think I've read enough to handle it OK.

The leaked 431 is from VZW so there's really no difference. Official just means VZW is supporting it. I would expect the Desktop Manager verision of 431 to be available after 6PM today too.

    craig this should help you

    1. Download the 431 exe to your pc.
    2. Delete all other OS installations from your pc.
    3. Install the 431 to your pc.
    4. plug your phone into your pc with a usb cable.
    5. If you want to shrink the OS (remove some of the extra files) download BB Hybrid Tools from here:BBHybrids Tool (Public Version) - Downloads - BBHybrids Forums
IF NOT, jump to step 7
    6. If you are shrinking, double click bb hybrid tools exe and open the window and check anything you DO NOT want to install. Click SHRINK MY OS when finished.
    7. If you ARE NOT using a shrinking method, jump from Step 4 right to here and look for vendor.xml by going to c:/programfiles/commonfiles/researchinmotion/apploader/vendor.xml
delete vendor file if you see it. On VZW? you don't have to delete this file.
    8. then stay in that same folder and double click the LOADER.exe file and your OS will start to install.

During the process, the loader will backup your data and apps, wipe your device and load the new OS and put everything back.

Hope this helps. Process takes about 25 mins.

Ok cool. Is it usually a pretty short delay, or will be another day or 2?

    Thanks

I'm not either, but a bunch of other sites are suggesting that the OTA won't be pushed out until 8pm (EST): BlackBerry 6 hitting Verizon Bold 9650 and Curve 3G phones tonight

Setting aside the leaked version, it looks like some lucky folks got access to the OTA earlier than the rest for some reason.

Now, if I can only wait 3 more hours (after a wait of months).

    Default Stuck on 5.0.0.975?!?

I'm on 5.0.0.975 with no update to 5.0.0.1006 available via OTA or Desktop Manager, what's up with that? (Ooooo, weee....)

Is that a corporate policy to hold an update? I'm on Verizon in New York. I checked for an update via wireless and Desktop Manager, with none available to .1006 let alone OS6.

    Maybe tonight I guess...
