I keep hearing about this "testman" site for Verizon, but all the links for it just take you to the Verizon phone page. Anyone know about it? I'm just curious. It's frustrating to keep hearing something talked about and not be able to access it myself. Maybe it's down or something. Grrrr.

It usually looks just like the VZW main page. It is their test page where they add things and test that they work right.

It's pretty much a mirror image of the normal VZW website, but the top portion of it has been blank (for me, at least) for a couple of days now:

Huh. When I use the link, it looks like a normal, workable page--and the top portion is not blank for me. I know everyone's been saying it's blank. That's why I thought I was in the wrong place. Thanks.

It may depend on what browser you're using to view it. I actually left it up for a few minutes while I did other things and the flash portion finally showed up.

At this point... by the time this phone launches it will already be out dated. Might as well wait for the Nexus One on Verizon.

thats what i am thinking...i have to wait til April 1st anyways and i think the Tour 2 will be far surpassed by other phones out by then.

unfortunately i'm on Sprint...so it will still be a 'top of the line' phone on Sprint

I'm hoping it won't be outdated.. but a few people have said that already, and it's making me rather nervous. It seems like a great device though, so hopefully VZW will get the OS squared away soon. (:

I'm not going near a Nexus One until Google fixes Android to allow voice dialing via Bluetooth headset. Even my LG Chocolate from 3 years ago could do that.

To update my earlier post, I am hearing 9630 users could see a 5.0.0.497 official release as early as tonight.... not confirmed at this point.

i'm stuck with an 8330 till nearly may when my plan runs out. honestly if i had the option i'd probably go android, but since it's a company paid phone and the only email we support is BES email... the tour2 will be the most advanced thing available.

honestly i want this phone just for the memory and that beautiful, beautiful screen.

Okay I'm not waiting for this i NEED to "rent" a phone! I'm going to get the Blackberry Curve 8530. How is the battery because everyone says its terrible. How long would it last me if i was to casually go on the internet like 30 mins max everyday and texting and BBMing a little.

i had it for a few weeks and had to charge it at the end of each day. one of the reasons i returned it to wait for the T2. but im right with you, looking to "rent" a phone as well.

honestly, for the 3 weeks I had the curve, the battery was absolutely fine. first few days it seemed to drain a bit quicker but as time went on, the battery rarely dropped below halfway once night came and that was with being on it around the time you described. don't worry about the battery at all.

clearly 2 different experiences. but whats the trouble with chargin it at night anyway? plus if anybody thinks the T2 is going to have awesome battery life, if anything itll be the same or worse with the better screen resolution and (possibly) faster processor.

by the way, pretty sure verizon dropped the price of the Omnia II. If i remember correctly it was usually after the DROID on the phone page and now the DROID is the last phone... just an observation.

dif experiences indeed. guess im just under the mentality of having an old flip phone that you could use half the week without charging. those were the days, haha

i do not know if i could go that far, the RAZR gave me a whole other set of problems. Battery life was one of my last concerns.

Be patient..... I am hearing the .497 would be a leak though, not an official release. However, at this point I do not think it would be out of the question for VZW to actually bite the bullet and release the 9650 before the 9630 OS drops. I know, kind of crazy right? But hey, they can only hold out so long....
