whos still using the 9650 and for how much longer?
How many of you are still using the 9650? Do you plan to be on it much longer or will you be updating to a new device soon and will that be a BB or will you be switching platforms?
I'm just curious. I've tried iOS and Android and am currently bouncing back and forth between my 9650 and 4S. Just the simplicity and ease of use for messaging on the BB always lures me back. Also dearly miss the LED on the iPhone. - 02-08-2012, 09:56 AM #3
I presently back to my 9650 and have several Android phones. While they are nice, flashy and faster than my 9650 I am always drawn back to my BB. I have looked at the 9930 but just not all that impressed. Too thin for me, no real extended battery and without BB going 4G on Verizon yet, just not worth the move... for me. So for now I will stay with my ole 9650 till BB offers something worth jumping for.

still using mine
i'm with u s cellular and so far they don't have a blackberry to offer that i think is better than what i have now. will probably wait until an os 10 device is available unless this one breaks before then. if the new device doesn't have a keyboard i may switch platforms and leave blackberry for something else.

My Bold 9650 has been very very good to me. I'm not sure when I will upgrade, but I know I don't want a handset that has multiple problems.....I'm doing research now on my next purchase of a smartphone and its not easy. WOW, soooo many options. What do I need? What do I want? Will it last for approx 2yrs? Lots of questions and still looking for answers. Bottom Line......Whats BEST for ME.

I used the Android Thunderbolt for 10 months before trading it for a 9650.
I'm waiting until the 9930 is bug free and under $100. - 02-08-2012, 02:57 PM #7

I still have my 9650, going strong. I am eligible for an upgrade right now, but I am holding out on Theme Builder 7. As soon as it is available, I will switch to the 9930. Gotta have my themes.

My 9650 is running as well now as it ever has. I'm eligible for an upgrade in a couple of weeks. I'll be getting the 9930 at some point, but I might wait for a month or so.

I am going to use my trusty 9650 until I have more confidence that a new 9900/9930 isn't going to brick on me and/or there is a fix in place the addresses that. Only then would I consider upgrading. My current 9650 is so dependable (at least for right now) that I just don't want to risk the headache of an unusable device...even one as gorgeous as the 9900/9930.
So at least for the time being I am still satisfied with my 9650. - 02-09-2012, 08:40 AM #13
I still use my 9650..it's unlocked and I use it on AT&T..and it actually runs great on EDGE. I love the keyboard on it and the feel. I have my work 9930 that I use for most of my browsing, and more higher end apps though. Best of both worlds!

I'm still using. I'll probably keep the phone untill I can upgrade. Right now I'm eligible to upgrade in summer.
I can't say who I'll go with. I've so much trouble with this phone I feel like throwing it through a window some days. At least once a week I spend half a day or more trying to get it to reboot (freezes on bootup), my keyboard works when it wants to, and often I can't unlock the phone. Nevermind my battery only lasts 2-3 hours. I'm frustrated to no end. - 02-09-2012, 01:46 PM #18
I originally dl from the Opera website and everything was fine. Then I "Upgraded" to the newer opera and I didn't like it at all. I couldn't view sites properly nor could I zoom like the older version. I ask for help here and someone posted the older version. I'm running version 6.1.2376 and it works great.

My trusty 9650 is running great!! I am also due for an upgrade from Verizon on Feb. 20th. I'm looking for a bigger screen also. My eyes are not getting any younger.
I also have been looking at other phones besides a Blackberry (now don't shoot me Jaydee
). Played with the 9930 at a Verizon store and really do like it....especially that keyboard! Trying to make up my mind as to what I want to do.
Oh yeah.....I am still on OS5.

I know what you mean I have only had this phone about a week and a half the battery life is very bismal to say the least and I have done all of the battery saving tip. Nothing is running in the back round I turned off wifi, blutooth no facebook, if I answer a voice call I lose 25% of my battery ONE CALL no more blackberries for me nice options but at a hassle and very buggy.

Thanks, I missed that. I can see why you like this version better on the 9650.
