Weird charging behavior on Bold 9650

I am seeing some strange charging behavior on my Bold 9650 and I am wondering if anyone else has seen this and knows how to correct it. Sometimes, if I charge it overnight, either via wall charger or USB cable, it will appear dead in the morning (and will appear to not be charging in the interim). If I then pull the battery, and put it back in, it will show a full charge after the reboot (and is charged).

I upgraded to the latest device s/w not too long ago (6.0 Bundle 2647) from Sprint, so possibly related to that, not sure.

Anyone else seeing anything like this and know how to fix it?

When I had .600 from Sprint I noticed the same thing if I went a few days without restarting it, and just like you, as soon as a restart is done it shows the correct battery levels. I never paid much attention and just pulled the battery when it did this. I have since downgraded to Verizons last official .524 and havent noticed it doing that since.

I finally decided to upgrade to OS6 this past weekend & just yesterday experienced the same issue. It didn't start doing this until yesterday which was 5 days after updating...I figured it had something to do with the theme I was running & now realize it's an OS bug. Weird & a tad annoying but something I can live with, for now.

Try the 587 OS found here:

Official OS: 9650 6.0.0.587 from Cellular South

I didn't have that issue with 600, but since you do, try different OS and cmpare results

Thanks for the link, I may give this a try if this battery status issue persists or worsens to the point I can't live with.

While I understand you didn't have this experience with .600, can I ask what issues you did have that resulted in downgrading to .587?

I had the BLack Screen of Death issue with 600. The screen dims out like it's supposed to, but then doesn't respond to anything (trackpad click, key press, etc) and won't "wake up". It happened 3 or 4 times over the three week period I ran 600.
