Vzw 9650 6.0 What happened to Column View & Page View.
What happened to Column & Page View on 6.0? All I find now is zoom which makes you scroll side to side to read something on your browser. We had it on 5.0. The other thing I miss about 5.0 is that you could dial straight out of your home screen. Now you have to go to the phone icon to dial out.
Am I missing something? Otherwise I like 6.0 it was a snap to download thru Desktop Manager. - 02-11-2011, 05:40 PM #2
They are not currently supported in OS6. Hopefuly they will re-instate them in a future build.

Click the Menu key, and select Options from the Home Screen. The first item says "Launch By Typing". Select "Universal Search". After that, you should be able to enter a phone number and then hit the phone key to dial. I think entering a phone number from the home screen is tied into Universal Search.

I appreciate your reply but there appears to be something missing between Options and Launch by Typing. What Heading Group is "Launch" under ?
Thanks

If you're on the Home Screen, and click on the Menu button, one of the items in the menu is Options. When you select Options, that should put you in hte Home Screen Preferences. The first item at the top of the screen says Launch By Typing, and you should see a drop-down arrow. The two choices from the drop-down are Universal Search and Application Shortcuts. Select Application Shortcuts. I'm also running .431 on a 9650, so I would think the choices would be the same as mine.

Thanks for the help. I'm on .431 also. After Options Click Display then you find the Home Screen Preferences and then the Application Shortcuts. Changed and saved the setting but it still did not allow me to use the #'s to make a call. Still have to press the green phone first. Oh well thanks anyhow

Hi
The default was Universal and I changed it to Application and saved. Even did a reboot to see if that would help. Did not work. Oh wellBold 9650

If I use the Universal Search it works, but the first number pressed does not appear in the number section so I have to either press P and then start the #'s or enter the 1 & the number so it is just as easy to press the green phone ????????

That's odd. I don't have to press P. I just enter the number and then hit the green phone key to begin dialing. Have you tried entering all the numbers? If I start entering numbers, I have two items on my screen. I have a white box stretching from the far left to the magnifying glass. That box contains the letters. Below that, I have the word "Dial" and the corresponding numbers for the keys I pressed. Once I'm done, I press the green phone key.

I have the same screen but it misses the first number. So it is 6 of 1 1/2 dozen of the other which is easier as they require the same # of key strokes. I am using the "Simple ....6" theme, possible that that is the issue

I think the browser automatically wraps text like the Android browser.
