Upgrading from a Tour 9630 to a Bold 9650?
I can't afford a new bold and found a BB bold 9650 for $100.
Is it a smart upgrade from my BB Tour?

You'd be gaining a touchpad and wifi, more memory I believe.
The 9650 is free with upgrade though. $100 seems way high. - 05-23-2012, 01:23 PM

Okay, gotcha. Then $50-100 probably is reasonable. People on here probably have some 9650s for sale. Check out the Marketplace.

I have had a tour for about 3yrs, I love it, but lately it has been rebooting on its own quite a bit. I have thought about getting a tour, I am also with Verizion. I have insurance, and was wondering if perhaps they would take the phone now since I have the insurance with them and give me a new 9650. Anyway, can't decide ,,,,,,,,

Amazon has the Sprint Bold 9930 for $99, I would go that route rather than pay $100 for a two year old phone (9650)

From the 9630 to the 9650 I didn't notice any speed difference.

Thanks for the responses. I suppose I will get a new 9930 one of these days, I still have the old unlimited plan and do not want to give it up if I don't have to.
Anyway, thanks to all for your opinions, I do love my Tour, so no big hurry, just get the bug every now and then, you know? - 05-26-2012, 08:37 AM #13
9650 is a nice upgrade, but I wouldn't get one with new 2 year contract and wouldn't pay more than $100 for a mint condition used model. 9930 is even better upgrade of course.

You can find much more advanced Blackberry devices if you will look for it.. get some CDMA/GSM new unlocked device... not the old 9650

I think that's a good upgrade. I still have a 9650 that I use every now and then, and I even use it on my AT&T acct sometimes. I think it has the best keyboard out of the 9700 and 9780..it's almost as good as the one on my 9930 imo.. Anyway, although it's slow, it's still a great BB.
