Default Updated os running like trash

Finally updated my os after having to do a couple battery pulls this week and phone is running like junk. Thought my problems were gone when I got rid of my storm and actually got a working BB in my 9650.
Was generally happy with the phone. I'm keeping an eye out for alternatives. Hoping that the phone will start acting better, but I know it won't.

It's a good thing I'm not tempted by the still full price 9930 at VZ and the fact that no local stores(best buy or VZ) have received a torch 9850 to sell.

I find it pretty funny that our local stores or even Rimm for that matter don't even care about selling the torch.

2 questions

What os are you and were you running.

Did you do a wipe of the device before you updated?

I'd try a backup/security wipe on the phone. Then fresh install OS and restore data. Seems to do better than just an update at cleaning things up.

I did wipe the phone first. I may look into going back to the older os if possible. Thanks guys. Would just like to get the phone running good like it used to before last week.

Several people are using the .587 OS and say it is very good; much better than the .600 that I am running now. Might you try that one?

Like jaydee said 587 seems to be the most stable os6 build. If you want to go to 5 I would take any os other than the 985. Most were pretty solid.

The OSBB V8.0 on top of .587 is, so far, the smoothest and best running OS I've found for the 9650. Everyone seems to find the sweet spot that works for them. Sadly, it does take an investment of your time to get there.

I'm going to advise against the OSBB hybrids. I've tried a few and they're horrible; unless you enjoy wathcing the spinning clock, and waiting for the letters you type to appear on the screen.

Just try vanilla 587: smooth, stable and no lag.

Yes there is. Storm 9530 got officials 2 years after it's release.
