Unlocked BB Bold 9650 not working after 30 minutes

I have a BB Bold 9650 that I unlocked and brought with me to Colombia, S. America. The phone works, but then it stops working and doesn't make any calls after 30 minutes. It just goes from "calling" to "disconnected" in about 10 seconds. I have gone in and erased all previous info, changed the phone's number, etc. Do you think I have a bad unlock code, or that I need to change the country code or something?

Just went into my SIM Card settings and I see that the Network is "inactive." How do I change this?

The Network being 'Inactive' means that your phone IS unlocked.

Thanks. What does IS unlocked mean? Just the information System? Did I buy a bad code? How do I unlock the IS?

No, it means that your phone is in fact unlocked. The problem is something else.

There is no such thing as a bad unlock. It might be something with your OS. Have you reloaded the operating system on it?
