Default Time for a new BB

Ok its time for the Verizon phone upgrade. I have had the curve and now I have a tour. I generally like the tour and have had no problems with it. Is the Bold just like a tour or does it offer better features. i am aware of the difference in track pad vrs Trackball and Wifi. Other than that much difference?

You can get OS6 on the 9650, and also has more device memory.
Perhaps life is just that...a dream and a fear.

I like the OS 6 on the Bold but I would almost say wait for a new BB.

I have both...Tour is my work phone, Bold is my personal phone. As was already mentioned, the Bold has more memory, so can run OS6 if you choose. (I didn't...waiting for a less buggy version). The basic look and handling of the two are the same...if I put my phones side by side, they're almost identical twins, except for the trackball and track pad. So, you'll be instantly familiar with the Bold if you decide to make the switch.

But...since the phones ARE so similar, and your Tour is still working fine, I'd agree with waiting to use your upgrade to see if something new comes along.

Honestly, I wouldn't burn an upgrade on the Bold. Maybe buy one online for cash to use until new devices are released, but I'm one that passed on the 9650 because it wasn't enough of an upgrade. That would probably be an all-around safer move, and gives you something decent as a standby, as well.

The Bold 9650 does have BB6 and more memory. I've had mine since it was released last June, it's a great device. Keep in mind EOL is at the end of March. There will be new devices coming out later this year.

Bold has been a great device but OS6 webkit seems more suited for a screen with more real estate. As others have indicated, wait for new device release.

Funny. I can't imagine a phone better than my Bold 9650. I love it! Gonna have to be some helluva device to make me switch!

Never thought I would would want a device with a larger screen but that is my only complaint about the OS6/Bold 9650 combo. You're not totally happy with the browser either. I'm not sure if I like the form factor of the Torch but I know I prefer a keypad for typing. It just seems the OS6 webkit, in its current form, is more well suited for a larger screen...or a magnifier (and I don't mean the built in one).

While I like my Bold, I have not formed an emotional bond with it. In the past 25 months I've gone from the Curve, tried the Tour, and happily landed on the Bold. I will just as easily move to the next generation, but like you state...Gonna have to be some helluva device.

Ok thanks all for your help and comments. I think I am going to wait for a bit and see what comes out. Seeing how its working fine I thnk I will get a Playbook and than see what turns up in the New Phone area. Maybe wait for a 4g LTE version. Thanks Crackberry Heads!
