Question Is this the right phone for me?

I am leaving the standard phone world for a BlackBerry. I just want to know what unit is best for me.
    What I need is:
    Dependability/reliability.
    Decent application.
    Decent screen.

I was considering the Storm 2 until I found out that the 256MB of memory doesn’t allow for an OS upgrade. I am led to believe that the 9650 does allow one to upgrade the OS, correct?

A big point that I want clarification on is if using a cracked one will downgrade any feature sets. Will 3G turn to edge on a T-Mobile network on a cracked unit?

The phone is very dependable, screen is bright and crisp, and most of the BB apps are very useful. They may not be as pretty as android or iphone but they get the job done.

The bold can handle os6 very well since it has 512mb of ram and runs pretty smoothly. Not sure what you mean cracked unit or else I'd help you out with that last question unless you mean unlocked?

    Thanks for the reply.
    I did mean unlocked.
I don't have too much time but I am trying to search.
Off the top of anyone's head, do you know if it is a simple and quick process to unlock the phone from Verizon to be used on T-Mobile's network? I know it won't be 3G but Edge will suffice. Is there a chance of bricking the phone by unlocking it? I know it isn't a firmware update but...

The Bold 9650 is a great Blackberry... However, if your looking for a phone for T-mobile, get the brand new Blackberry 9780 Bold. T-Mobile just came out with it and already comes preloaded with 6.0 a long with a updated 5.0 camera.
    Current Device: Blackberry Bold 9650

    Future Device: Droid Bionic 4G!
