Default random phone freezes (esp coming out of standby)

Hi guys. I regularly have to wait ~5 seconds for my 9650 to wake up after i hit a keyboard button (when the keyboard is locked, at which point it will remind me the keyboard is locked and I'll unlock it).

Also, I'm getting periodic freezes all over the place, for all sorts of apps. Any clue what can be done to make this better? I'm not talking about that stupid hourglass/clock (which I see far too much of as well) but just unresponsive system for 10 seconds, or so.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks!

-Stephen

At least it eventually wakes up. I just sent my 9650 back to VZW on a warranty exchange, from time to time it wouldn't wake up at all. And no, for those wondering, they sent me another 9650, not a 9930 (darn it!!).

But to troubleshoot, I'd start with a clean os load, just restore your contacts. Then slowly add in your apps again. If the OS is the culprit a fresh load should cure it. If it's an app, once you load the offending app in, you'll know. (Provided you're doing it slowly, say one app a day).

Which OS are you running? I run 587 and don't have any lag when hitting a keyboard key when it's locked.

mine lags too on 600. That is it! Between that lag and the BSODs that I get, I'm gonna switch to 587.
I've had enough.

Sprint's choice of BB6 releases weren't the greatest. 415 was riddled with lag, and 600 has the dreaded BSODs.

My phone only started doing this once I installed .600. I got better then slowly has gotten worse. I tried reinstalling and finally sent in for warranty exchange (hoping as well for 9930, but didnt happen). When I got my replacement 9650, it came with .5xx and I used it a day or so like this an it always "woke up" normally. I installed .600 and back to the lazy wake ups. Im going to install VZWs last official release that it came with and call it done.

I am done with .600, downloading .587 now. Sometimes you need to take a step back.
