ANNOYING! is there anyway to remove the floating pop up info bar when viewing your calendar?

the darn thing just takes space away from viewing the rest of your calendar appointments.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Not sure what you are talking about since I don't seem to have a "floating pop up info bar" when I view my calendar, but maybe you could post a screen shot. Also, have you gone into the calendar options menu to see if any settings there need to be changed?

ehh maybe i described it incorrectly. when you scroll through your appointments in the day view, there's a black strip the pops up either in the bottom or top that tell you the details of that appointment. it's that pop up that is annoying because it covers a good portion of the screen and impedes your view of the rest of your appointments.

that is what i'm looking to disable. it is useful in the weekly or montly view modes but not in day mode when you can already see the details written in for each appointment.

I just switched over from agenda to day view and I see what you're talking about. Unfortunately, I don't know how to disable it, however, might I suggest switching to agenda view as the bar in question isn't present there, and it basically shows the same info as the day view.

Ya I haven't found a way to disable it either. Hopefully RIM will provide that option in a future os update.

My work around is to use agenda view, disable calendar quick entry, and use the short cuts to navigate the calendar more quickly.

OK, see what you are talking about in Day view mode when you highlight over an appointment the bar pops up across the bottom and don't know if it can be disabled, but maybe in future os update as you said. I have been mostly using agenda view and sometimes monthly or weekly, but not daily so much.

Does anyone know, when you chose the start of day time on the calendar, why the previous time still shows up just a different shade. On os5 that part of the day disappeared so you wouldn't have to scroll down passed the insignificant time of the day. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks

I too found the bar annoying at first, but have adjusted to it. It does come in handy if you have more than one appointment schedule within the same hour. If more than one appointment is schedule within the same hour, you will only be able to see a small portion of each event. This way allows me to hover over each one so that I can see it in full view. If I need to quickly view all appointments for that day, I switch to Agenda View.

I find the whole calendar to be annoying. I liked OS 5 much better. Is there any way to go back without switching the whole OS back?
