No trackpad, keys or buttons
The other day my phone was working fine. I sat it on my nightstand to take a nap and when I woke up none of the keys work. The phone works because it recognizes when I plug in the power cord and receive a call but the trackpad, keyboard and convenience keys are completely unresponsive.
I opened the phone and it looks like all the above connect to the circuit board independently which makes me think it's not just a hardware issue. Tried reinstalling different versions of OS, battery pull, etc. Even cleaned off inside contacts and such with compressed air. Nothing seems to work.
Any ideas? - 06-01-2012, 09:20 AM #2
Bummer. Based on what you've already tried doing to fix it, and assuming you didn't buy any kind of extended warranty, it might be time to move to a 9930 or maybe find a used 9650 on CB or Craigslist. I recently read somewhere on CB that Best Buy is currently offering 9930s for $99 rather than the $229 range that most carrier stores seem to be asking.
Edit - FYI, here's Best Buy's $99.99 offer for 9930s: All Mobile Phones with Plans Mobile Phones : Blackberry_Bold_and_Torch_20120429 - BestBuyLast edited by BBMINI; 06-01-2012 at 09:26 AM. Reason: Added link
