Newbie: Quick opinion on bold 9650
I've been wanting to get into blackberry, I wanted to get a 9930 when my contract is up in august. Someone suggested getting a phone on craigslist, etc instead of waiting till my contract is up. the 9930's are expensive but I can pick up a bold 9650 in mint cond for much less . . .
obviously the 9930 would be a better device, but what I'm asking is: would you consider this a good starting point, or is it better to wait to get a 9930 later?
Thank you! I apologize if this isn't an appropriate use of forum space - 06-13-2012, 11:05 PM #2
Well, as I tell everyone, to this day I've never had a regret with Blackberry 9650. A really great and strong handset to start off with and it also has a great retail value whenever you're ready to sell it and buy a 9930. Hope this helps!

Although not my personal favorite of all the Blackberries, the 9650 is a fantastic device. My wife is selling her Android so she can pick up a 9650 to hold her over until BB10 and our upgrade next year. Good size. Nice keyboard. OS6 upgradable. Cant go wrong for your first Berry. And it will be a superb backup when you do end up with your 9930.

Out of all of the Blackberry Smartphones I've ever owned, the Bold 9650 is my favorite device. I remember waiting and waiting for the 9650 to come out...and I am never dissapointed when I pick up my phone. I've had iphones, androids..the whole 9...and still come back to my Bold. Awesome device to tide you over until your upgrade to the 9930. I think I'm going to stick with my 9650 until Q1 of 2013 and get my hands on some BB10 action.

The 9650 is a solid device, I still have mine as a backup for my 9930. I suggest picking up a used 9650 or 9930 and waiting on the BB10 devices to hit the market in Q1 2013.

Yes, the 9650 is a very good phone. I would still be using my if I didn't get the 9850 for $9.99.
