Default New to "newer" Blackberrys - quick question regarding main screen setup

Myself and a co-worker just received upgrades from our older Curves to these Sprint Blackberry Bold 9650's.

The O/S seems to behave a little different, you can see part of the wallpaper behind the top clock/connection info area, and above the section you can scroll left or right to see "All", "Favorites", "Media", "Downloads", etc. When you highlight that top row with those titles and press the scroll pad, it makes the section jump up or down depending on position.

Is there anyway to setup this model and OS so it behaves more like the Curve style where there is just one main screen with all your most used icons that does not automatically collapse and hide the icons (except the 1st or 2nd row which is a setting) after it times out and locks (we are on BES servers). Before you could have 1 main screen and hide or display certain icons and have a tidy work area, but these different sections "All", "Favorites", "Media", "Downloads", seem to get triggered, and you have to swipe left or right to get back to "All". I guess I am basically asking for an "ALL" only section that does not move or auto collapse.

Please tell me there is a way to do this

Thanks in advance.

Steve

You would have to either install a theme, or go back to OS5. There are plenty of themes out there, just make sure the one you pick is designed for Bold 9700/9650/9780.

From the home screen, press the blackberry button (menu) > select manage panels > have "ALL" checked and uncheck everything else.. See if that helps.

You can turn of the panels.
This is an option you can control. I turned mine off and I like it much better.
As for hiding apps, what I do is just dump all the ones I won't use much in the apps folder.
As far as the apps go, you can arrange to save favorite websites as an app that launches when you touch it.

Install a theme without panels. I recommend Leebo:

[FREE] leebo theme ported to OS 6
