Question Needed: Digital/analog clock that doesn't fade out

    Greetings,

I do lots of public speaking and would like to use my BB9650's clock (or another simple clock app) as my timekeeper. However, the default clock app fades away after 30 seconds or so, which I know is configurable, but there's no "don't fade away" option or the like.

Is there a way to either configure the BB9650 to never fade away when the native clock app is open, or is there a simple clock app that can override that setting?

    Thank you in advance,
    Isaac

Options > Screen/Keyboard > Backlight Timeout > 2 minutes. This is the longest that you can go. If you can charge the phone at the stand where you speak, you could configure the clock to stay on the entire time.

Clock > BB button > Options > Clock options > When Charging > Display Clock
Current device: White Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB

    BlackBerry history:
    Verizon: 8130, 8830, 8330, 9630, 9530, 9550, 9650, 9930
    AT&T: 9700, 9800

A better solution would be to put the clock into Bedside Mode. It would dim down a bit, but would stay on the display.

    Did you actually try this?

Anyway, not sure of a clock app, but Buy Leave It On - Backlight util with message pop-ups - Download Leave It On - Backlight util with message pop-ups - Buy Apps from BlackBerry App World will let you keep the backlight on for a number of apps. Might be worth a try...

I use Bedside Mode on the night table next to the bed in hotels whenever I travel, so I know it definitely does work well.

I've been using Bedside Mode every night for almost 4 years, and never once has the clocked stayed up all night long with it NOT on the charger.

Well that's the trick! You put your 9650 into the charging cradle which turns the clock app on. Then you put it into Bedside Mode. Having the cradle charges the 9650 and keeps it upright to see during the night.

I was also going to suggest Leave It On. It's a handy app to have.
