Need HELP - IS BB going to be around? Have the BOLD - Need advice!

I can upgrade to the iphone or android. every verizon salesperson tells me that BB is going away. do not get the bold touch they tell me? Go android or apple?

I love my bold and want to new bold touch just becuase it is newer, ya know.
My daughter has a iphone and uses face time. Facetime is the only reason for me to go iphone...

But will BB be around?

definitely, the bold 9900 is a big improvement, the touch screen is responsive and easy to use. Stick with bb and bb will stick with you

of course they are, they are designing the best phones as we speak.......75000000 users and growing, no debt, they'll be around.. Get the Bold, don't listen to the sales people. get what YOU want. not what THEY want you to get.

maybe OS10 wil give you facetime, there is no facetime on the OS7 phones atm.
blackberry will be still around, you won't see BB dissapear anytime soon.
but it's up to you which one you would go for.

Great responses. I will narrow down to BB Bold Touch versus Iphone.
I will not go Android.

I do like features of Iphone and that I can factime and do ICloud, etc...I can share with my son and daughter and that is the only reason for Iphone.

I do love my BB and always have. Not a fan of any BB Touch devices but the Qwerty keyboard hands down keeps me with BB. A small touch screen on the new Bold is cool too.

Yes, I should stop listening to those in stores.
But, Facetime is the biggest seller right now for me.
I will have to think about this over the weekend and early next week.

another point if i may: use kids phones to do rest of what do w bb now. you are focusing on a big missing 'want' and ignoring how you will like doing rest of what need and automatically can count on using bb, on a diff platform. -- tradeoffs in what bb excls in. does entire pkg work for you as welll as bb/

You can't control BlackBerry's future...only your own. Do what makes you happy. And if you make a mistake, you'll be back.

fwiw; long ago when i was learning to drive, the drivers ed instructor gave me an important piece of advice: "did you ever run a race? people who worried about hitting the runner next to them, looked at him and did. if you focused on where you wanted to go, you automatically moved forward instead of sideways. right?" i agreed. he said, "now, you are worried about going out of the lane, but if you let your eyes stray to what you are afraid of hittting, your hands will follow your eyes, and the wheel will turn in that direction. the way to drive is to look where you want to go and the car will go there." i mention this because on this site of bb users and fans, we are allowing ourselves to post topics that are dire such as "are all the current bb faulty?" instead of "is there a bad batch of hardware? which models?"
"is rim going out of business?' vs rim sales are down. or 'i want an app that isn't on bb.' if i like an app, why am i not starting a thread here encouraging folks to ask the developer for it. have i asked the developer for it myself?

not to say that anyone 'must' stay w/ BB vs whatever suits them best, but rather that we can influence what is happening choice by choice, and by not panicking over hype and market fluctuations. why all the handwringing HERE on crackberry/ it plays into the marketing of competition right here on these boards.
