| | My wifi wont work
So a lil while ago i found a blackberry 9650. & ofcourse i kept it.
It was set to sprint, but it also was set to use gsm.
Since im with tmobile i inserted my t-mobile sim card and set it to gsm and ofcourse it worked.
Everything seems to work properly.
With 1 exception.
When i choose wi-fi it wont allow me use the browser.
Not at my house, not at my gf's, not at school.
It tells me "Unable to Find the Requested Server"
Ive never had any kind of plan that allowed me to use internet or "data-plan". Its simply the pay per megabyte plan lol.
However by using the wifi, it shouldnt matter that i have no data plan correct?
The phone connects for free to the routers, or hot spots for free, just like a laptop would.
Could anybody help me?
Ive never had a blackberry before. Im a lil tech savvy, but being unfamiliar with the phone i hear all this talk about service books and routing host tables & feel lost & confused..
What exactly do i need to do so that i can use the browser using wifi only?

Welcome to CrackBerry...
If you update your profile to include your device, carrier, and location, this makes it easier for others to assist you.
BB's are unlike any other smartphone. Because data is routed through RIM's servers, a BB-specific data plan is required, regardless of whether you're using wireless or Wi-Fi.
Also, you're probably aware that BB's have PIN's that identify you for BBM and some other things. If your BB's legitimate owner has reported the device lost/stolen, your PIN might be blacklisted, meaning it won't work even with the right data plan.
You should probably man up and return it to Sprint.

I'm hoping the OP made an honest attempt to determine who the owner of the lost Blackberry was and tried to return it. I happened to find a brand new Torch 2 weeks ago while walking back to my car after a football game. It was a bit of a pain and it cost me some of my time but I found out who it belonged to and arranged to get it back to the owner. The owner was ecstatic and thanked me profusely, over and over, saying "Most people would have never tried to return it." I would like to think most people would.

lol thanks guys.
I did attempt to find the owner & actually just yesterday a guy came around my work lookin for it. Well guess wut. U guys gave me a change of heart and i returned it =) AWww now arent u guys feeling warm and fuzzy inside lol =P.
But i actually realized that the problem wwas that i had the data charges set to off.
When i had data charges set to ON. i couldnt use the web browser anyway, cuz i had NO data plan.
So i figured, Well i cant get charged for data anyway..
So I turned the data chargers on.
AND wifi.
I could surf the net online at school.
Which is the only place i attempted it.
wierd.

What are data chargers? My God, the whole 9650 forum has taken a huge nose-dive into pathetic. This thread is a shining example.

The good news: I'll have to back to you…
Anyway not that it matters, I figure he means in Manage Connections the "button" to Turn All Connections Off / Restore All Connections.
In the spirit of our good samaritan OP, maybe someone will do the charitable thing and close this thread…
