Default My experience with the chirps

Yea, I know the title is funny, but I wasn't sure what else to call it. I had an 8330 for a few years prior and loved it. Was able to finally stop the chirping by finding an OS that it diddn't happen on. With the 9650 I received about a month ago, the chirping is worse. I tried to ignore it, but sometimes it actually hurts my ear. So I decided to call vzw and complain. They transferred me to BB Support who had me re-load the OS. I played along with them thinking maybe they would do something special behind the scenes and the chirp would go away. It didn't and actually got worse. Called back a day later and now they're sending me a replacement. I know it won't fix it, but I figured I'd share my story.

Oh Vinndy, you and me is SOUL sisters!!!! (Gosh...I hope I haven't insulted a guy!)
My 8330 chirpped like a bird for two and half years. And when I got my 9650 I was as happy as a clam because 699 was perfect. Slow, but perfect. Then I started changing OSes and well, you guessed it...the chirps started again.

Here's what you need, dolly...5.0.0.975. No chirp
Or Lyricidal's hybrid of 5.0.0.732/758....no chirp

I have tried them all. Believe me. 5 OSes in one day. Even mixed my own and still had the chirp. PM me and we can exchange PINs. We're a match made in heaven....You know ...a FRIENDSHIP MATCH...God we have some really whacky stooopid people on these boards before you know it they'll be saying all sorts a ****, but I mean we need to be talking about this chirping.....

Have you talked to Jaydee? She's queen of chirps around these parts. I believe she may be running the 5/975 os combo and says the chirps are gone. Perhaps she will chime in and comment when she gets a chance.
HA HA Jaydee you are way to fast for me.

    Omg!!
    A thousand pardons Vinndy!!
You and I are soul mates!!! How's that? Whew!!!! Pardon me for that slip. But really...any help or question, please do not hesitate to ask. I have had every speakerphone blast, squelch, clang, chirp, etc that is possible!!! My phone calls are noisier than 10 minutes in a pet store!
    Good luck!

Besides being a cure for the "chirps," you'll find the .975 the best non-hybrid OS 5 for your device. Enjoy!
