Default Most Worthless Phone I've Owned

I"m on my fourth 9650 phone in 18 months. Running OS6 on it.
Every problem I've had with it has involved constant rebooting. I've done so many restores on it that I can't count. The last one I had replaced lasted less than one week before I had to have it replaced. I'm scared to death to install any apps on it for fear it will go through its rebooting process.
I've tried the "interrupt reboot" by going through the the Control Panel, restore via Desktop Manager, and returning it for replacement.
I really wanted to use this phone with my Playbook, but it looks like I'm going back to an Iphone when my contract is up in April. I just wish BB could make a decent phone.

I've updated to the latest version from Sprint. I think you are right in that the phone was not created for OS6, and that is where the main problem is. I think it has too little ram to run the apps.

Revert back to OS 5, then report back. Phone should be very stable on OS 5.

Imo, it's one of the best bb's out there. And I beg to differ. I have OS6 running on it for almost a year, and it's been fine.

I have had a few memory problems with OS6 on my Bold 9650. With OS5 it was perfect!
Even so, I continue to use OS6 and have done so since it debuted for the device.

Try OS5.0.0.975 as some have suggested and see if that helps you. We all know these devices are each different even tho they're the same model.

It's your carrier. Most people who complain about 9650 run it on Sprint. you probably have a crappy signal and that's causing your reboots. The BB6 OS runs just fine on 9650. I ran every leak an official out there.

This is completely false. Check your facts....then post

One of my "replacement" phones was a 9670 clamshell. It lasted five days before it started doing the same thing. So maybe I shouldn't narrow my rant to just the 9650.
After I cooled down, I went to the Sprint Store and they are replacing it again.
In defense of BB, the guy at the Sprint Store says that they have mega problems with Android phones. Especially when they do updates. So I guess everyone has their issues.

First, sorry that your experience with Sprint and your 9650's has been less than satisfactory. I've had Sprint for almost 5 years now and two phones. A 8330 and a 9650, both have worked very well for me up and down the east coast. It appears that your having extreme signal issues or should I say non-signal, the constant rebooting is usually a signal issue. Have you check a Sprint coverage map to see how strong the signal is in your traveling area as well as home area, they come in handy. At my new home in GA I have to use wifi because of signal issues, where in NJ/NY there were no issues. IMO... the 9650 is a very solid Blackberry, the new OS upgrade (6.0.0.706) has done wonders for my phone, feels like it did when I first bought it in June 2010. Good luck on your next smartphone purchase, but make sure to check the coverage map.

I always find that the firmware that a device ships always works better than with the next major firmware version.

At least with my devices.

I haven't had any major problems running OS6 on my Sprint/Nextel Bold 9650. Even in poor signal coverage or non-coverage areas my phone doesn't reboot. I'm currently running the latest official OS upgrade.
