anyone find anything out on whether its worth updating or not?
- 12-16-2010, 12:53 PM #4
Agreed..... .975 has been working just fine for me.

I'm not so sure I like 975 that much.
I just got a vzn replacement phone with 975 pre-loaded - my "replaced" phone ran 5.0.0.810 - and I am getting LOTS of hangs......I really don't like that square hourglass nor do I like moving the trackpad and getting no reaction because the berry seems just plain....stuck!!! I can't tell if its the software or the phone...but I have noticed that the trackpad sticks out a LOT more than my previous 9650.....The Criminal Justice system........just another oxymoron!

This update is supposed to address the call dropping and signal flux issues more than the recent updates. Wether or not it does I have no clue yet.

i just updated my BB. It looks like it might be faster as far as navigating around the device. Seems a little more faster.....

, I see now why some people get frustrated with BB and RIM.
I went from .699 to .983 and yea my signal stopped bouncing and dropping out, but my clock doesn't come on during charge, a minor problem but something simple enough that it shouldn't happen.
Now there's .1030, my clock still doesn't work, but my signal is unacceptably bad.
I went from 3 or 4 bars steady with .983, to no measurable signal with .1030.
My signal bounces more than it did with .699, and most of the time doesn't have any bars.
This is unacceptable, to have so many updates on os 5 and have the latest be this bad.....this is not good business and doesn't make me wanna stick with BB.
So I'll be reading through the forums on downgrading an OS and have a project this weekend.
If I don't have OS 6 and a working flash player by spring, its EVO time for me.
This is poor customer service.

.983 I found louder key volume, but intermittently would silence until the phone rang and the phone occasionally would crash. Put .699 back up which has been very stable. Tried .1030 and same sound issue as .983. Didn't leave it on long enough to see if made phone crash. Again, .699 has been very stable. I know there can be many factors such as apps etc., but seems like other people have similar problems with these supposedly improved software. Your milage may very.

I recently had a problem with my 9650 via Verizon and they replaced it in two days
. My trackpad would become very sensitive. For example: I would talk on the phone and when the trackpad touched my face it would mute. Then the trackpad wouldn't move at all. So I couldn't make calls =/. The replacement 9650 they sent me seems to be working fine though =).
