Default Keyboard issues: select keys are double typing

So my phone is only 1 year old. It was working perfectly. Best phone I've had to date. I've never had an issue with it until last night. I'm on Verizon and still have the operating system that came installed with the phone.

Around 8pm last night, all of the sudden my y, h, b, u, j, n keys started "double typing" when I pressed them. I sent a text message, set my phone down for about 30 minutes, picked it back up to send a text and that's when it starting doing this.

Here's what displays when the keys are pressed:
pressed key = displays on screen
y=yi
h=hk
b=b$
u=uo
j=jk
n=nm

I tried turning the phone off, then on. Nothing. Then I tried a battery pull. Nothing.

Has this happened to anyone else with a 9650?

I saw in the other forums (bold 9000) that sometimes gunk builds up underneath the keyboard or trackball and can cause issues, so a cleaning can solve the problem.

EDIT:
I just tried another battery pull, but this time I left the battery out for 5 minutes. My phone seems to be ok, now.... I'm not sure for how long, though.

A friend had a similar issue with her 8530 and resolved by reloading the OS. I saw posts in the 9780 forum about double typing, maybe read those for some ideas too. Certainly can't hurt.

To answer you question though, I don't recall seeing anyone post this issue in 9650 forum before.

Well, it has started doing it again. I think it may be a hardware issue since it has never done this before. I don't think it's a software issue since I haven't loaded any new software recently (within the last month or two).

On that device, it sounds like moisture damage.
