I love and hate my Berry.

So what you're about to read is quite a lot, and, I would appreciate if you did..

Okay so I've had this Blackberry for quite some time now, and it's in pretty bad condition. The keypad often starts randomly typing stuff before returning to normal in a while. It's battery is absolutely horrible, and it cannot last me more than half a day with nothing but BBM and MSN being used. The battery door is loose, all this crap. The phone has been majorly used.

But I love this device.

I want to make it like-new, or even better. I have tried OS 5 hybrids, as I really loved that OS, but they didn't work too well for me. So right now I'm running 5.0.0.975, which is a pretty "solid" OS, but battery drain.. :/ Not so good. At all. I've purchased 2 new batteries, and they all have been horrible. They may be fake or something, as I'm getting them off Amazon and one from a local store.

I wanted to find the best OS 5 (hybrid or non-hybrid) for this device, the best way to extend battery life without an extended battery door (extended battery without new battery door is fine though), and a new housing. I don't think I can easily find a housing in the UK though.

Anyways, my point is, I wanted some help/guidance with how to go about the battery issue, maybe keypad issue too and as well as a good operating system. I love the keypad and design and all this stuff. I'm either thinking of getting a new Bold 9700 or "fixing" and tuning this device, as I loved these two devices and OS 5 in general.

Someone help me get the most out of this, as well as recommend some apps which will run without lag (apps which run as good as the core apps).
