Default How to use US cellular 9650 bold for AT&T?

Hi All,
I have just bought a BB bold 9650 from someone and it was for U.S. Cellular and now I want to use it for AT&T.

I am totally clueless as how to do it, coz the person who sold this to me said that this unlocked and can be used. I could not check it then and now I am stuck with this piece.

Can someone please help me out. I do not want to part with this device

I am new to Blackberry and lack even basic knowledge about BB. Help me out please

You need to give more information.

What happens when you put your SIM card in the device?
Can you make phone calls and send text messages?

What else are you trying to do?
What problems are you having?

Oops I am sorry, this being first time I am missing lot of things

When I put my AT&T card in the cell, I still get message on screen saying "Insert SIM Card". I cannot make either calls or text or do anything except using the wifi.

In the Options -> Networks and Connection -> Mobile Network -> Network Technology I have used "GSM/UMTS"
Please let me know if any more information needs to be posted

Sounds like it's not unlocked or else your SIM card is not compatible with the device.

When you go to Options > Advanced > SIM Card and type MEPD (you might need to hold the SHIFT key, but no letters will show up when you type) what does it say next to "Network"?

Disabled indicates that it is unlocked.

So either your SIM card is not compatible or the device has been blacklisted.

Time to contact AT&T Customer Support.

Thanks a lot friends. I looked at few existing forums but could not find anything specific to my problem that may help me.

I think I will stop by a customer care service of AT&T.

I will update here in case I get a resolution. Thanks again for your help

I am having the same exact problem with the BlackBerry Bold 9650.
Mine is an "unlocked Sprint" that I am using on AT&T.

My issue is that I cannot operate on the 3G Network - it is only operating on the EDGE network. AT&T says it is because the 3G functionality is locked to the Spring network. Another AT&T rep says that the phone is not actually unlocked because the functionality is limited (i.e. not 3G capable.)

When I type MEPD into the Advanced SIM screen, I also see "Network Disabled" among other Disableds. Would love the actual solution as well.

EDIT: I am not sure about US Cellular, but I spoke to yet another AT&T rep and asked about my 3G connectivity error.
Sprint operates on dual-band while AT&T operates on a GSM system. Because my phone lacks the GSM-capable radio/module, my BlackBerry Bold is confined to the AT&T EDGE network. There is no way to fix it besides getting a GSM-capable BlackBerry or somehow switching out the module.

Yep. You will NEVER get 3G on that device on AT&T. It does not have the hardware to support that.

Hello friends,

I got my bold working. I went to AT&T store and they changed my sim card. It seems something was not right with it. After which my phone started working.
Yes, they said that my phone does not support 3G on their network
