Default How to use a Sprint Bold 9650 with someone else's T-Mobile Account?

I've checked the boards for existing threads on this issue, but previous threads seem to deal with when a person wants to use their Sprint Bold 9650 on T-Mobile's network with their existing Sprint number.

My question is different because I need to know how to give my Sprint Bold 9650 to someone with an existing T-Mobile account so they can use it with their T-Mobile number.

I gave my old Sprint Bold 9650 to a friend on T-Mobile whose Galaxy S was stolen. We switched in the T-Mobile sim card and changed the network settings to GSM. When we boot up the phone, it still is associated with the Sprint number--not the T-Mobile number.

Any help here is greatly appreciated!

What do you mean by "still associated with the Sprint number?"

When you switch to GSM mode and put in a SIM, that SIM's number now becomes your Bold's phone number, not the number that it had with Sprint, despite whatever is shown under "My Number" on the dialing screen.

Thanks for the follow-up! We noticed the Sprint number was still displayed as "My Number" and thought the number was still active as the Bold's number. It took some time for the Bold to get signal on T-Mobile's GSM network, so we didn't have a way to confirm the active number. Once the Bold got signal, the SIM's number was in fact the active number.
