Default GSM Phone Number

I plan on going abroad to Spain with my Bold next month and I need to provide my college with a mobile number I can be reached at while abroad. I'm assuming this isn't the same number that my phone currently uses in the USA?

When I go into Options to the SIM card section, I have the option to edit the sim phone number... which I'm guessing I don't really want to do.

Is it just the same as my normal 10 digit Verizon phone number?

Thanks

Did you activate a SIM card?

If not, the SIM card in your BlackBerry isn't activated so there would be no phone number associated with it.

If you did, then the service provider should have provided you with your phone number for the SIM card.

It doesn't sound like it's been activated... The one that came with the phone has vodaphone and verizon logos on it. How do I activate it?

It would probably be cheaper for you to get your device unlocked and purchase a prepaid SIM card from a Spanish carrier. VZW's international roaming fees are expensive.

Yeah, you need to look into Verizon's Global program and see if that is an alternative for you.

Global Services

Otherwise, you need to start looking into what options are available in the area to which you are going to travel.

If you use the Verizon/Vodafone SIM and roam with Verizon then your number stays the same but you'll pay out the nose for calls.

If you use a local Spanish SIM, then you can be reached at that number provided your school doesn't mind dialing internationally to Spain.

Vodafone Spain offers prepaid BIS plans, look into that
