Default Getting outlook email on 9650?

So I've been trying to get my school e-mail account on my phone for about 2 hours now and still nothing. Does anyone know how to get it on there. I have downloaded Blackberry Desktop Manager on my MAC, but I'm not sure how to use it.

You have to have the url to where you can check your mail via web.

I'm assuming you have an outlook web exchange email account? I have one for my work, didn't want to pay $150 for exchange service. So I figured this out and now I get all my work email on my bold 9650 in real time.

When attempting to set up an email account with your exchange email and password, at some point it will allow you to manually enter settings.

First you need exchange server URL: usually
    https://mail.whatever.com/exchange

Your user ID is the :
    Domain\username

Mailbox: (for us it was our name)
    First.last

That is how I got mine to work. You're gonna have to figure out the mail URL, the domain, and your mailbox name.

    Good luck dude.

So you're saying I can get work email on my 9650 (Verizon) using the unlimited personal data plan as opposed to the unlimited corporate data plan if I use your method?

PS: Getting my first BB tomorrow.

It won't be the same sync as BES. I use this method too (OWA) but there is also a polling period. I get enough work emails though that they keep coming in.

We have outlook at the college I am at. I just have a BIS account. All I do is go to email set-up on my Bold and enter the same id and password that I would on any computer. It works for me.

The first time it was set up, I remember that it took about 30 minutes before anything came through.

"...but there is also a polling period." What does that mean?

It checks every 15 minutes for new mail and once it finds mail it keeps checking for a few minutes. If no mail then its back to the 15 minutes again. If you receive lots of mail it will just keep coming in to your phone almost instantly. That's how my OWA works

And OWA just delivers email, does not sync calendar, contacts, tasks, and memos like the corporate BES would do.

but for a work email and school email it works awesome if you are not able to get the server info.

it doesnt sync to your calendar but if you accept all your appts on your phone then it will be placed in your calendar. i am on the road alot more than i am in the office so most of the stuff goes through the phone anyways.

So where would I input this info? Not through the regular email wizard, correct?
