extended battery for 9650
Thanks for the replies about how to prolong battery life. Is it worth getting an extended battery for my verizon blackberry bold 9650? I'd like to be able to go awhile in case I'm out and about for work..thanks

You can get a spare battery (OEM batteries are cheap on Amazon.com for example) to carry with you that will not add bulk to your phone for a lot less money than extended batteries. Also see the thread about using stock theme and solid black background wallpapers for when you plan to be out and about for a period of time. Easy to read in sunlight, less bright when inside and cleaner, more professional look too.

My wife's 9650 has an extended battery. Uses it with her Playbook so the extra power comes in handy when she is away from the office. Normally arrives home with about 40 percent battery left. She doesn't like to do battery pulls in the middle of important business.
So, it depends on how you use your phone. If you really don't want to worry about power, then the extended bat. is worth the money. Her's came with the phone we bought on eBay. Worked out real well.
BTW, just try prying the PB out of her hands. Dare you :-) - 04-25-2012, 02:59 PM #4
njtexas2 I have the 9650 thru sprint and used to have to plug my phone in half way thru the day with a standard battery. I was streaming Pandora for the whole day so that may have caused the extreme drain. I purchased the 2700 maH battery from Seidio and never looked back at the standard battery.
Yes the size difference takes some getting used to but I refuse to go back to a standard battery.
On the weekends when I don't use the phone as much, I pick it up Saturday morning and it doesn't go back on the charger until Sunday night.
just my 2 cents. - 04-25-2012, 06:15 PM #5ordered my bold 9650

I love love love my extended battery. Battery life is something I don't even think about anymore. And I use my bb a LOT. I bet the screen is honestly on for a third of my day. 5 hours of actual intense use...love that battery.
