Desperate- How Do I Get Mini-Opera to work?

Hi,

As of tomorrow Bolt will no longer be available and I need a browser. When I first got my phone mini-opera would not work on it which is why I switched to Bolt. I just tried to download the latest version of mini-opera and I can't move the cursor, get to the menu or do anything other than enter an internet address which makes the application practically useless for me. I see that others are able to use mini-opera with their Bold. Why can't I? I have not updated my OS since I purchased it nearly two years ago and am still using v5.0.0.732. Is this why I can't use it? Is there an easy update to my OS that I can sue to get mini-opera? Thanks...I just CAN'T deal with the BB browser as my everyday browser.

Are you on a data plan ? If not the you just got your self a case of 3rd party app flaw. Google it for the cure

I'm not sure what you mean. Yes I am on a data plan and yes I already tried to look for the answer.

If your carrier find out you don't have a data plan for your BB, they'll block all network connection for third party apps. Since you had a data plan, you should remove the app and install opera mini 6.1. Works well on mine, and I'm running OS 5

I did install mini- 6.1 but I can't find the cursor to move it and I can't scroll at all. I can only enter web addresses. Is there another way to move the cursor and scroll other than the track-pad on mini-opera?

Edited to add..they actually had me download 6.5..I will look for 6.1 now.

Deathcommand I have the Bold 9650.

I have 6.5 installed, and it works fine.?

did you install ota or through dm?

I do know the opera website is less than userfriendly, but there is an option to download different versions, maybe you need an update.

I did it over the air. I just deleted both Bolt and the Mini-opera and re-insalled 6.5 and it is working now!! The mini-opera did not give the option to install 6.1. Thank you all for your help..
