| | Competely stumped on my 9650
Bold 9650 on 5.0.0.975 on Verizon Wireless. Phone has been running absolutely wonderful up until yesterday. I got 3 random reboots at various times throughout the day. Checked free memory, everything was good. I decided to delete some apps at this point, figuring it was one of the recent updates I had downloaded for a few apps that I was using. I started deleting apps off the phone, and about halfway through, it reboots.
OK, now I am getting a bit worried. I started deleting themes off the phone, and more apps after it booted on. Rebooted again on its own. Starting to get nervous. Powers back up, and is OK for about 5 minutes, and I get an SMS, and it reboots, and goes into a reboot cycle of 6 reboots in a row. Phone powers back on, and battery went from about 75% charged to about 25%. I move to the default theme, and try to see if it will stay powered on.
So far, phone has been excellent for the last 14 hours. I have not installed or deleted any apps in the mean time, and have emailed, texted, used Facebook, and made a few calls.
I am super stumped. Not sure what would cause random reboots like that, and then the cycle of them in a row as well. Any insight to this?

| | Did you grab any Event Logs during HF? Otherwise, I'd just be guessing. I do know it will get finicky, deleting or adding too many apps between reboots, but that wasn't originally the problem.

I forgot to check the event log. I wonder if I can still see what is in there?

| | Just a reboot alone would remove tons of previous info. Only holds about 300Kb of data that constantly replaces oldest with newest. I doubt there's anything much more than an hour old in there.

I had this happen with my 9630 and it turned out my battery was loose. Every time I set it down it would reboot. I put a piece of paper in there to tighten things up.
Just something else to check.

Thanks for the advice. I will double check that. Battery cover is a little loose. I wonder if it is not seating properly.

I actually downgraded to this, from a 9930. I don't know what I am going to do. I love the BB platform, but I can't help thinking about making the move. I know I will regret it, so I probably won't do it, but the itch is coming back.

He meant make the move away from BlackBerry I think. That's why BBW replied that way.
I think...

| | Left the 9930 and went back to the 9650. That had to been caused by head trauma, or insanity.

I don't know what I want to do. I wish that there weren't so many choices. I would love to just go back to an 8330 and use that.
