Default Can't sync contacts with new Outlook 2010

I have searched the boards for an answer (and spent about 4 hours trying things) and am stumped. I bought my husband a new thinkpad and then went to synch his personal BB Bold 9630 to the computer. I can get email (godaddy and gmail) and calendar synced but not BB contacts (which are were all of his contacts are stored after leaving his last company)

We have reinstalled the Outlook from the disk to address the click to run issue and turned off wireless sync on the BB but still nothing.

I am not an expert but fairly tech savvy and usually can get these things done. WTHeck is up here!!!!

Appreciate any thoughts - thanks in advance

I have no idea what I am doing but somehow I had to create a gmail account - Outlook syncs to gmail and gmail syncs to my playbook. I don't touch it as my 9900, playbook and PC all are in sync. This stuff is way to complex for those of us who grew up using IBM punch cards and tabulating machines!

    Welcome to CrackBerry.

I've synced Outlook 2010 and my BB successfully for 2 years without any trouble, so it can definitely be done. Are you using Desktop Manager to sync everything? If so, are the contacts set for 2-way sync (or if you're just wanting to load the contacts from his BB into Outlook, 1-way sync from BB to Outlook)? I don't use GoDaddy or Gmail, so I don't know how that works, but I can confirm that Outlook should sync flawlessly with your 9650, so there must be a setting mixed up somewhere.

In my situation the sync works well with my 9900. It is the PlayBook that will not sync without Gmail.

Default Still can't get it to work

So tonight we tried to sync to another (older laptop) thinking it was a windows 7 problem. This time the desktop manager gets an error before it will sync up.

Then we tried to download google sync mobile with the thought I would just transfer the contacts there and then back again and THAT won't load either so now I am thinking the blackberry is somehow the problem

Our issues is he left his prior company and only has his contacts on this blackberry - he is willing and ready to get a new device but we need to get something like 2000 contacts out of what seems to be the mobile desktop of the BB.

This is why RIM is going out of business - ARGH

Thanks for any further ideas-he went to Verizon store today who advised him to sync to the computer but that doesn't really help us

if youre using Desktop Software before 6.0 you HAVE to update the desktop manager, also when you get the new device you could send all contacts through bluetooth and then sync new device in case it is some error with current device and try syncing new device with some online service (gmail, or other email)
